Board of Management

As required by statute, the College has a governing Board of Management, which is responsible for ensuring that the College’s mission is achieved, and that the future direction of the College meets the aspirations of learners and the needs of industry.  The Board also ensures that the College is compliant with the statutes and provisions, which regulate the College and its framework of governance.

The Board provides guidance to the senior managers of the College, and takes final decisions on strategic matters.

Membership of the Board of Management comprises external appointees as well as staff and student members. External members of College Boards bring to the college sector a wealth of experience and expertise brought from business and industry, the professions, as well as from public and voluntary service.

The Principal is a member of the Board, as is the Student President who are both members for the duration of their tenure. There are also two staff Board members, one teaching staff member, and one support staff member, each elected to the Board every four years.  The total membership of the Board is 16 members.

The Board meets at least six times per year, and at other times as necessary.  The Board also focuses upon specific issues via its Board Committees. At present there are seven such committees, which typically meet 3-5 times per year. These committees are made up of Board members, and are attended by appropriate senior staff.

The committees are:

Audit Committee

Equalities Committee

Finance & Estates Committee

Learning & Teaching Committee

Performance Review & Remuneration Committee

Search & Nominations Committee Minutes

Staffing Committee
