The following practical ‘hands-on’ practical skills will be delivered in the workshop creating an enthusiastic and friendly workplace environment.
You will learn:
- General appreciation of bricklaying
- General Brickwork
- Walling Skills which includes One Brick, Half Brick, Facing Brick Walling, Cavity
- Walling, Decorative Brickwork, Arch construction
- Health & safety procedures
- Construction Drawing

No formal qualifications, just an interest in learning and keen to improve your job prospects.
Apply Information
Fill in an application form and return it as soon as possible to the College’s Student Services Section. Your application will be acknowledged within ten working days of receipt.
It is important that you complete the application form as accurately and clearly as possible. You may also wish to include additional information to support your application.
Your completed application form will be passed to a course tutor who will consider your application and you may be asked to attend an interview.
If you are successful you will be made a formal offer of a place. An unconditional offer means that you fulfil all the immediate course entry requirements and have been accepted. A conditional offer means that you must obtain certain qualifications or examination grades before you are accepted. Guidance on how to accept or decline a place is contained in the offer letter.
If you decide to withdraw your application or if you are accepted on to more than one course, please inform the Student Services Section immediately. This will enable us to offer the places held open for you to other applicants.
Applicants who are unsuccessful will be given the opportunity to consider other options available to them and, if required, to seek advice from Student Services Staff.

Applications are welcomed throughout the year. However, the earlier you apply the better your chance of a place on the course of your choice.
