Community Learning

The College operates in partnership with a variety of community based organisations to provide learning opportunities, including voluntary organisations, community groups, local partnership organisations, and Glasgow City Council Community Learning. All learners are encouraged to think about taking their learning further and the community tutor will be able to offer advice regarding available, courses. Community students may wish to take the opportunity to visit the College and find out more about learning opportunities at Glasgow Metropolitan College.

The College offers a range of courses at a wide variety of locations in the community from neighbourhood community centres to church halls, mosques and schools. Learning groups are small, around 10 – 14 students and meeting times are agreed with each group individually. The community courses are offered free of charge although students are required to complete enrolment forms.

The College is responsive to any requests for new community courses in a wide range of subject areas, so our portfolio of courses is continually developing. Not all the courses run all the time but are at the request of community centres.
