Both libraries are fully accessible to disabled users and offer a variety of assistive technologies. For disabled access to the Met Millennium Library and ICT Suite, please ask at the Finance Office for the key to the lift.
We offer a range of tools and assistance for users with disabilities, who have been identified to library staff. Please note that any information disclosed to staff is in strictest confidence. Assistance available includes:
- Induction loops for hearing impaired users. Turn your hearing aid to the T position.
- Coloured paper for use in photocopiers or printers.
- Free photocopy enlargements.
- Book fetching service. Ask a member of staff for assistance.
- Extended loan periods.
- Nominated borrowers who may borrow on your behalf.
- Large print guides upon request.
- Materials in alternative formats on request.
- Large print books upon request.
- Text magnification units.
- Adjustable height tables.
- Read & Write Gold on all library networked machines.
- TechDis toolbars on all PCs: customise webpages to your own accessibility requirements.
In addition, the Met Millennium Library offers the following assistive technologies:
- Texthelp Wordsmith.
- ZoomText Xtra.
- Kurzweil 3000.
Please note that guide dogs and helpers for disabled users are welcome in both libraries.
