Student Loans are the main source of help for living costs for students. It is paid into your bank account in monthly instalments.

You should be:
- Studying HNC or above
- Studying at least 50% of the full course to qualify
- Earn less than £22,000 per year
£200 ILA
You should be:
- Studying a part-time course
- Be over 16 years old
- Earn less than £22,000 per year

If you are coming to college from England, Wales or Northern Ireland your funding will be different from Scottish students. The best advice is to check with your local education authority however the www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance website is a good source of information.
Students from England, Wales and Northern Ireland are entitled to apply for additional funding including Student Loan, Student Loan for Fees, maintenance grants and special support grants.
