In the session 2007/2008, the College’s learning and teaching strategy was informed by the HMIe Review which took place in February 2007. A detailed Quality Improvement Action Plan was developed and became a key focus over the 2007/08 session. All targets were undertaken successfully with five continuing quality improvement themes highlighted by the college.
These are:
- Widening Access: Admissions & Recruitment; Guidance & pre-entry information
- Retention, Attainment, Achievement
- Continuing professional development & curriculum development
- Communication of strategy
- Cross college self evaluation
The College’s Quality Assurance and Improvement Unit has worked successfully on a range of priorities over the session.
These priorities included:
- Working with the College’s Schools to set specific targets in line with achieving key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Communication of policies & procedures via the College Intranet
- Revised approach to Core Skills
- Awareness raising of the Scottish Government’s report ‘A Curriculum for Excellence’
