Recruitment and Selection

Our Recruitment and Selection Procedures have been specifically developed to ensure that employees are selected in the most appropriate and objective way; free from bias and purely on the basis of individual merit related to skills, qualification and relevant experience.

To assist us in ensuring equality of treatment for all, we take steps to remove the personal details of applicants from the short-listing process.  To assist us in this process, we ask all applicants to make use of our Standard Application Form.  (See also “Guidance Notes for Applicants”.)

Applicants who feel that they have been unfairly treated in the Recruitment Process may ask for their complaint to be reviewed by the Head of Personnel Services. (Recruitment & Selection Policy – Section 5.2).

The College also operates a Guaranteed Interview Scheme for applicants with a disability, as further detailed in our Disability at Work Policy.

Advertising of Vacancies

In addition to the Vacancies Page of the College website, the College regularly makes use of the local press, Jobcentre, specialist / professional journals and websites to advertise vacancies.
