The School of Design delivers specialist full time courses at NQ and HN levels in a wide range of art, design and craft courses. These include: General Art and Design, Fine Art, Illustration, Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Product Design, Graphics, Visual Information, Model Making, Furniture Design and Restoration, Wood Machining and Decorative and Architectural Glass Design.

The School of Design also delivers a wide range of part time and leisure courses in the evenings and on Saturday mornings. These include many of the Art and Design disciplines listed above but additionally many other creative courses including Portfolio Preparation, Life Drawing, Expressive Drawing, Oil Painting, Fine Art Printmaking and Silk Screen Printing, Hat Making, Jewellery, Glass Fusing, Upholstery and Soft Furnishing.

The School of Design uses creative approaches to enhance all aspects of the learning experience of our students. Staff are encouraged to be innovative in their teaching. Collaborative approaches and participation in live projects are encouraged. The School has active links with the Creative Industries and students have been highly successful in many national design competitions and exhibitions.

A course in design will equip students with the skills, confidence and self-esteem to achieve their potential and develop professionalism within the creative industries.
