I often look back and am grateful that I attended College. The lecturers were absolutely fantastic and extremely supportive. I suffer from ADHD and the support for students with disabilities was simply amazing.

College was a great experience as it was the right balance between the teaching methods you experience at school and at university. The lecturers were all friendly and helpful and the college itself has fantastic resources.

HND Electronics has been a steep learning curve but worthwhile. Winning the Hammermen award was such a surprise and wouldn’t have happened without the encouragement and support I received from the teaching staff at the college

I particularly enjoyed working in Scholars, the college’s fine dining training restaurant. This gave me the chance to be a supervisor, manage Front and Back of House teams, as well as work on being professional in such an environment.

Throughout my life I’ve felt that people have made assumptions about me due to me being deaf, however, I’ve challenged these stereotypes and I’m delighted that I won the Jock Young Award for being an inspiring role model for Deaf Sport.

The facilities at the college are great, there’s plenty of room to study, and the workshops and engine room really help you to get a feel for the equipment that we will use and work on at sea.

I’ve met so many inspiring students and staff who work or volunteer for the Students' Association, and I love being part of a team who influence change at City.

During my HNC, I went out on placement to a nursery. This was a great experience, getting to put our knowledge into practice.
